Colosseum Fine Arts

I founded Colosseum Fine Arts in 2007 because I was working at Simic Galleries in La Jolla and I said to myself one day that I can open an art gallery, so I took my savings and started the gallery. I really hated clocking in places and I was never good at it, even though it is basically a brain stem level operational function. I really think clocking in drove me to start the gallery. It wouldn’t have taken much else as I am completely infatuated with art, smearing paint, and dealing with the full range of characters that my day to day business allows me the glory and remorse of dealing with. The art business is like no other business. It is filled with every possible personality on the planet and they all seem to have had their coffee this morning. So the gallery was the next best thing to hitting the lotto. Where else can man live, feel and think freely but in the presence of art? Art is the blood that courses through the veins of change and embraces the cold shivering body of the generally accepted, lawfully inclined. It is the fueled subconscious teasing us with ever expanding discovery and self actualization in the form of sometimes pretty colors.

The mission of Colosseum Fine Arts is the curation of exhibits that juxtapose deceased masters works with those of international emerging artists while discovering and fostering the career of artists and new collectors alike. With a firm dedication to the international community, Colosseum Fine Arts is committed to providing exhibitions with depth and relevance to the human experience. In particular, the goal is the fostering of a greater sense of the aesthetic, the visual arts and varied media while influencing growth in all aspects of the artist and artisan. Colosseum Fine Arts hopes to better foster understanding of the art world and the people in it by the continued dissemination of information through exhibitions and educational events as well as an online resource for the discerning collector, artist and historian alike.

Colosseum Fine Arts operates galleries located in La Jolla, Los Angeles and San Diego, CA; an online e-commerce site as well as an artist agency and publishing division of the business to better meet these goals and provide a higher level of service to both artist and collector alike.
